Business has made a huge leap forward, starting from its initial rollouts to the current phase of globalization; it has robustly developed in all dimensions. It is very important for us to have an in depth understanding of spatial dimensions in which business operates. Today, when the world has truly become borderless, and the differences across the continents, regions and countries are melting, this proverb sounds most appropriate.
The development and the advancements in science and technology makes the world better linked, with chains of innovation and creativity. In true sense we are experiencing the flavor of “Vasudhaiv Kutumbakum.” This has a wide Impact on the business around the various frontiers of the world. The current world wide crisis (a repeat of the 1929 recession as some scholars argue) highlights the need to explore the genuineness of socio-economic policies pursued across the continents and has led to the initiation of a debate on imperativeness of retreat to ‘strong economic fundamentals’, which might even dictate new terms and conditions to the new generation of policy-makers.
Global Convergence, a relative term widely used in the context of ‘Information and Communication Technology’ (ICT) has its ramifications on various fronts. Today, all organizations are using GDW as a competitive variable to performance. Globally Distributed Work (GDW) is an emerging and exciting field, which addresses management of work, distributed across geographical boundaries, across the nations, cultures and economies. Therefore, the book focuses on concepts, strategies and models in gradation to understand the complete phenomenon. The book explores the various trends and addresses the major issues to understand the powerful business tool.
