Book has always been a source for academicians to present their thoughts on a particular subject in such a manner that are written in simple words to make the understanding comparatively easier for the reader. It gives us an immense pleasure to present this book on Environmental Studies which compiles the details of environment and its study. We are totally surrounded by environment and it affects our day today life. Environment is always been an essential part of our life, whether directly or indirectly. This book comprises of the details of why there is a need of studying environment studies. It is written in a student-friendly language without compromising on the technical details. Initial chapters try to cover all important concepts and terminologies of Environmental and ecology. It also covers the details of environment laws in Indian constitution, which included Central, State and Local bodies of jurisdiction. Next few chapters covers the problem of pollution its types and how one individually can minimize the problem of pollution, also the problem related to pollution and its implication are discussed in this unit The other units cover the topic of disaster and its management. This unit deals with the detailed study of various disasters like cyclone, earthquake, flood landslide etc. Under this chapter, we have tried to discuss the management of this disasters and managing cycle of disaster. Efforts have been made to include latest facts and figures related to pollution, disaster management in relation to India and world around. This book has also attempted to compile and has appendixes various Multiple Choice Questions, Fill in the Blanks and subjective questions in order to help students to judge their progress and also help them in the preparation of University Examinations. It has to be noted here that, with the changes in laws, there occurs some changes in the structure of rules also. Therefore, the contents here represent the core concept of laws and the rules and regulation applicable for the concerned assessment year. About the Authors Dr. S. M. Anas Iqbal is a post graduate and Doctorate in Commerce from Aligarh Muslim University. He served as Economic Consultant at Planning Commission, Govt. of India, New Delhi. Dr. Iqbal is an author of more than two dozen socio-economic papers and articles in national reputed journals and magazines. He is a Freelance writer of many leading newspapers like Amar Ujala, Dainik Jagran, The Tribune, Jansatta and Raj Express etc. Dr. Iqbal has also experience of administrative works and hold varied administrative positions. He is specialized in financial management, global business laws and international economics. He was an active participant in youth festivals organized by AIU and held the Post of Programme Coordinator at AMU.  He worked with International Institute of Foreign Trade and Research (IIFTR) and Medi-Caps Institute of Techno Management, Indore. Presently, he is rendering his services as Director (Academics) at Vishisht Institute of Professional Studies and research (Formerly known as Vishisht School of Management, Indore. Dr. Iqbal is approved Doctoral Guide in the field of Commerce and Management at Dr. K.N.Modi University, PTU, Devi Ahilya University, Indore and Pacific University, Udaipur. He has attended many national and international conferences, seminars and workshops. Beside this; he is committed to social causes and running an organization TEARS (Towards Education and Responsible Society). Dr. Iqbal is also author of six books published from renowned publishers and titles are “Opportunities and Challenges in the Global Business”, “Paradigm Shift and Challenges for Sustainable Global Business”, “Global Education System and Changing Social Arena” and “Value Based Innovative Business Management”, “Dynamic Approaches for Dynamic Business Environment” and “Global Business Laws and Taxation”. Dr. Iqbal also awarded many national scholarships like Research Fellowship from Indian Council for Social Science Researches, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India. Indian Solidarity Council has conferred him “Bharat Vidya Shiromani Award”, he is also recipient of ‘Bharat Gaurav’, ‘Eminent Educationist Award’ and ‘Rashtriya Shiksha Samman’. He also delivered lectures as Resource Person at Many UGC Sponsored Workshop. He also chaired technical session in a National Workshop on “Post GI Initiatives for Selected Craft Indications of Madhya Pradesh”, organized by Textile Committee, Ministry of Textile, Govt of India. Dr. Iqbal also participated in Panel Discussion on Socio Economic Issues at NDTV Profit, DD News and Etv. Dr. Iqbal is Member of Advisory Board, International Journal of Research in Management Science and Technology. Dr. Upendra Singh Panwar is currently working as Asst. Professor at SGSITS Indore has more than six years of rich experience in academics and industry. He Graduate in Pharmacy and did MBA in Marketing and Finance from Prestige Institute of Management and Research, Indore. He has done PhD on "Customer Satisfaction Attributes in Service Sector- A Comparative Study". He has also successfully cleared UGC NET. He started career in Service Industry and worked with FDC Ltd & Nicholas Piramal. He has been associated with several other institutes as a Visiting Faculty like Prestige Institute Indore, MSME Indore. Along with regular work experience, he did trainings with ITC Ltd Indore which were a value addition with exposure in Marketing.  Dr. Panwar has rich experience in Research and Development and published more than 20 papers in various research journals and presented 15 papers in various national and international seminars in India and abroad. He has been invited as Co-Chairperson for International Conference at VSOM. He was also invited for Expert lecture for International Program for the students at Thamasat University, Bangkok, Thailand.   He is one of the six researcher selected for ICSSR-India and NRCT-Thailand for doing research in Thailand for the year 2014. He has attended many seminar/workshops like Introduction to RM Conducted by IIT Bombay, through ICT Mode, Faculty Development Programs on Recent Trends in Teaching Pedagogies, attended Syllabus Review Committee organized by Devi Ahilya University, International workshop to establish Pan Asia platform for social science research co-operation (ASSA) at Bangkok and Workshop on Packaging Techniques of Soya and other Traditional Food organized by Indian Institute of Packaging to word a few. He has successfully completed yoga certification and Six Sigma Yellow Belt. He is closely associated with Social Governance, NGO, Training and Consultancy to various organisations.
