A comprehensive book on the subject, emphasizing construction practices, maintenance procedures and rehabilitation of bridges. All factors related to bridge design-aesthetic features, functional requirements, and type of structure, method of construction, materials to be used and the economics-are covered in detail. Necessary information, guidelines and actual practice and check-lists are provided. A large number of colour photographs of modern bridges around the world included in the book would be of added interest.
